International Conference: Policies for Water and Food Security in the Dry Areas

The International Center for Agricultural Research in the Dry Areas (ICARDA) is organising an International Conference on Policies for Water and Food Security in the Dry Areas in Cairo, Egypt from June 24 to June 26. This conference will be bringing together policy makers, development agencies, NGOs, donors and the private sector on the critical topic of identifying and adopting water management policies in the dryland areas that resonate with the development goals of food security, environment sustainability and better livelihoods.In dryland areas, where water resources are already scarce and are further declining in the face of increasing population and climate change, water security is an immediate priority. The conference aims to drive commitment and action toward quantifiable improvements to water usage, which can be closely monitored by all those involved in the land and water sector in the coming years.The conference is being organized in partnership with the following organizations:The three-day event is expected to be attended by over 100 delegates from roughly 30 countries. To read information on participation, conference program, venue and logistics of the conference, click here.
